Space Hulk

Ive just got my hands on the new 2009 Space Hulk game from Games Workshop here are some pics on the box art and a couple of sprues.

I will be posting painted pics as soon as I have a chance to paint them!!

I will also be posting my thoughts on the game after ive had a couple of games at ready to run models.

Campaign start

We have just started a new campaign at Ready-to-run-models in East Grinstead using the new planetary empires tiles from Games Workshop.

I decided to use my Daemon Hunters army with my new Valk model. I was against Orks, I just won it was down to me killing one biker between a in and a draw.

I think the campaign could be a lot of fun especially when we chuck in some Planet Strike and Apocalypse games!

Im so sorry guys and gals but the real world of work and doing up my house have got in the way of GW stuff! Ive done bugger all since my last update but all my titan bits are here now so I hope to push on a finish that soon.

I promise to post more pics as soon as ive got some stuff done!

Ttan - Part 1

Ok ive started the titan my wife gave me for my birthday (love you)

Its quite a job! To get the pose right and it to stick in the right place is no small feet! But im getting there!

The only down side is Forgeworld sent me the wrong arm for the left side, they say it will be two weeks to cast up the new one :(

However here are some pics to show you where I am at the moment!

Ulthwe waveserpent (WIP)

Ok here is some progress on my waveserpent. It still needs highlighting and finishing details but the core is done. It will also get a base to match my jetbikes.

750pts Ulthwe painted

Ok update time again!

Ive finished my two war walkers, so thats 750pts painted.

The bases are still not done except for the wraithlord.

New Plastic Valkyrie

Ive just finished the new plastic valkyrie kit from Games Workshop.

Its an amazing kit that is a joy to build and paint. Ive painted it up to match my Guard army. It will be carring my stormtroopers.

I will be using it for the first time tomorrow at Ready-to-run models in East Grinstead.

New Guard Codex

Ok this will be a major distraction from my Eldar.

The delivery man brought my Games Workshop Valkyrie and Guard codex to East Grinstead today and im very excited.

The Valk kit looks great and I will post pics when its done.

More Ulthwe

Ok ive been had at work on the Ulthwe so for those who follow this blog is an update with more pics.

Ulthwe winning run!

Ok ive finished play testing my Eldar now and after 6 games im happy with the army make up at 1000pts. I will now push on and paint that before I add the next 500pts.

The addition to the 750 shown in the post below is a wave serpent and 5 pathfinders.

The pathfinders took out a 5 man terminator squad in 2 turns on my last game they are a great little unit as they are still a troop choice!

I will post more pics soon as I try and get more painted over the weekend.

More Ulthwe Pics

Ok over Easter ive painted some more of the army. Here are the pics.

Ive finished the Wraithlord, Farseer and the Warlock ive included a WIP shot of the whole army so you can see progress.

Howling Banshees finished

Over the weekend I finished my squad of Howling Banshees. They played their first game last night at Ready-to-Run Models in East Grinstead and im pleased to report that they won :)

Im about to put another order in to Games Workshop to bring this army up to apocalyptic game size!

Little Howard

At Ready-to-run-models in East Grinstead we are obsessed with the adventures of little Howard.

The other day I sent a copy of the photo in my last post to the creator of the show Howard Read.

Howard (Big)

Helms Deep!

Adrian, Craig and myself from Ready-to-run-models in East Grinstead, bought this little beauty from ebay over the weekend. 

Its a 4'x4' table of the famous Helms deep featured in the Lord of the Rings -The Two Towers.

This table has fully hinged doors and flaps along with a moving gantry. Its all scaled perfectly for the Games Workshop LOtR range.

New toys

I just got my Games Workshop delivery from ready-to-run-models in East Grinstead. Its the next 750 points for my Ulthwe army to make it up to 1500 points.

Here is a taster before I get sticking and painting.

Ulthwe Update

Ok, its time time for a small update on my Ulthwe. I have finished the Guardian defender squad and have assembled the Storm Guardians. 

Ive yet to do the bases but i will do them when all the "core" troops are finished. 

I have also decided to up the army size to 1500pts and im hoping for a delivery of the rest of the models from ready-to-run-models today :)

Eldar Ulthwe

Ok I wanted to start a small army to play with at Ready-to-Run-Models in East Grinstead. There is a lot of choice from the Gamesworkshop 40K range, but I finally decided on Eldar.

Ever since the Eye of Terror campaine came out ive like the look of Ulthwe Eldar so I thought i would give it a go and do a 750pt army.

Here is my first few models.

Crew Finished

Ok here are the promised pics of the crew.

I got the plasticard tubing fror the spend shell cases from Ready to run models in East Grinstead.

Stormlord Crew

Im really happy with my stormlord but I think I need some crew for the heavy stubbers. So I've made two gunners for it.

They are made from mixing the Cadian and Jungle fighters Game Workshop figures.

I hope to be painting them tonight so I should have some pics up soon.

Stormlord Finished

Ive just finished the new stormlord model from Games Workshop and I must say im a little bit in love with it. The kit is amazing and went together like a dream. Its much better than the FW banblades and a lot more detailed.

Ive had a couple of emails from peeps who have read my blog and wanted images of the troop compartment so ive tried to include a few angles that GW have not shown yet.

I can't wait to get this down to Ready to Run models in East Grinstead and play some Apocalypse games.

Imperial Guard Video

Ive made a video of my Imperial Guard army and put it on Youtube. This is a first for me so im sure my next one will be better.

Stormlord

I got my new stormlord kit today so I can get my Guard army up to 3000 pts. I already have a baneblade at is a Forge World one. I must say that Games workshop have out done them selves and the kit is amazing with no less than 6 different tank options in the one box.

Ive gone for the stormlord as I love the idea of 30 st 6 ap 3 shots per turn!

Ive now finished building it, it took almost 4 hours as there are so many parts and its huge!

I will post pics of it when its painted. I hope to have it finished soon so I can get a huge apocalypse game at Ready to Run models in East Grinstead.

Painting the gaming board

Today i started painting my new gaming board, here are some WIP shots of my progress.

Realm of Battle Gameboard

Ive just taken delivery of my new Realm of Battle Gameboard from Gamesworkshop. I got it from ready to run models in East Grinstead.

Ive been very excited about this unique board, as it will ready add to the character of my games.

All i have to do now is start painting it!

My first thoughts on the product are:

1) The cary bag is excellent and very sturdy.

2) The detail of the board is far better than i had hoped for.

3) The board it very tough and looks like it will stand up to games well.

Keep watching this blog as I will be updating it with more pics of my progress and some battle reports played on it.

Dakka dakka

Since 2002 ive been an avid reader of the internet forum DakkaDakka.

Its a great community a cool place to hang out and chat with like minded Gamesworkshop fans.

Thanks Dakka Dakka for all the news, inspiration and laughs you have given me over the past 7 years!

Orc Chariot

Late last night I finished my Orc Chariot. Im really enjoying this army as each unit is so much fun to paint.

Guard for the win!

Right, im back from Ready to run and im please to say the Guard did well!

It was capture and control and on turn one the heavy bolter squad killed over half his Tactical squad that was sitting on the objective.

I had forgotten how much fun this army is to play with so now im even more excited to get my hands on the new codex.

Guard

Ok with the new Games workshop Guard Codex out this year im going to dust off the old models and try them out at Ready to Run Models in East Grinstead tonight. I will post up how they get on!

Ready To Run Models

Ok, first post!

I would like to kick off by saying thanks to Adrian at Ready to Run Models in East Grinstead for opening a Games Workshop stockiest in my town and getting me back in to the addiction that is Games Workshop!

Its a great shop with all the models and hobby related stuff you could ever want. But best of all it has a great gaming community. I will try and post some battle reports from the store over the next few months along with my model progress.
